Bob Parson's blog at GoDaddy... WHO CARES?

This thing irritates me a little.
Who cares about this guy and his blog? Why plaster it all over GoDaddy and damage corporate image that's already weak?

That is what I have been saying for the last 3 months. Not only that but he uses words like "ass" in his blog.

Look, while the FCC might approve, using such words in a blog that you have toed to your business is very tasteless, especially when you have the link your blog posted at the top of your business's website.

He keeps going on about how the godaddy logo guy isn't really him but it turned out to be and blah, blah, blah. And my meathead kid says "Daddy Go" all the time so that is how he came up with GoDaddy ,blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Bob Parson's is obviously is meathead and it goes to show you that even meatheads can own a business (bit for how long?). Although, if he keeps this kind of thing up, I venture to guess that Godaddy will go by the wayside in 2 years. I am transferring all my domains to another registrar once they begin to approach the expiration date.

It's like buying stocks. You hear about some idiot CEO that has jsut been appointed and yo urun like hell. that is what I will be doing with GoDaddy...RUN LIKE HELL!

I doubt they'll "go under" as a result of a single decision, but the blog does seem a tad bit juvenille for somebody in his position.
Albeit, I'd like to think I could still have fun if I was in his position.

Oh so there is a blog at the top of godaddy eh! Well you just gave the guy more hits to view than he should have,

I don't think Business should have them, its pointless. How many of you who have seen it, even care?, or did it help in your decision to purchase with them?, NO. I don't think they will go under for it, as someone stated earlyer, but I do feel its a bad image for the PR (not the google one!). Although in about 5 months when he realizes its only for his pleasure and no one cares it will go away, and godaddy will be back to normal!

I don't think the blog is for enhancing the business, but is being used the other way around....using the business to get his personal blog exposure for whatever personal, political, or other agenda he wishes.

Don't underestimate him though. A while back he owned Parsons Software, which he sold to Intuit (Quicken) for a tidy sum. He's also now the worlds largest web hosting company though Wildwest domains, and the fastest growing domain registrar. He's either a pretty astute businessman, or hires some people who are.

Actually I didn't even pay attention that he had a blog until the ad was brought up. He is probably reading the WebProNews which has been pushing blogs for corporate entities for month's now and how it is good for advertising. I think maybe for the PR people to put in blurbs is probably helpful, but a guy talking about his life is not. People like to connect to the human side of a company, but domain names is really not the kind of business that lends itself well to that. It would be like hearing the cashier's life story as you buy toothpaste at Wal-Mart.

Obviously many of you don't know the marketing potential of blogs. Rich in content and much like this forum, a way to express ones views and interact. Many are supposed to be personal! Search engines love them and even this forums talking about it.....nuff said.
