Is it just me or are sellers on EBay..

Unrealistic? I was looking at some of these prices determining whether I wanted to sell there or not and darn-o.. Crazy prices. Is it more for exposure or what??

Thanks for any input.

Cheers!

It's just crazy looking at the names on there and thinking, "What is going through these seller's head?" I would not want to waste my money trying to get buyers to look at my name and go, "Oh! I should buy this 21+ million dollar listing..!"

Ridiculous

Well if you look at it like this, you probably have a lot more chance trying to flog a domain for 1 million on Ebay than winning a lottery.

What annoys me more than anything else are the idiots who say their domains are PREMIUM (woohoo!) when they are clearly not.

Shop is spelt with 4 letters people, and nowhere does P & E end up next to each other.

Just as an example.

I sell on ebay and list all my domains at $0.99 and still hard to find buyers , i dont really recomment it for sellers. Although some of the crap domains listed for $x,xxx actually sell because the seller hypes them up so much and noobs actually buy them

All the ones at the maximum $21 million are just trying to get to the top of the listings to be seen but they will accept offers that are much lower.

The dreamers are the guys with TM domains at a more reasonable $1 million...lol

if you list high price, how much fees do you have to pay even when it is not sold?

If you don't use a reserve and instead just start the bidding at like $10,000 then you won't pay any extra. You'll pay the large sum of fee's if it actually sold though.

As a result of this forum thread I decided to take a look at domain listing on ebay, and accidentally stumbled upon this one:
Thenextgoogle.com is for sale! - eBay (item 180537999463 end time Jul-30-10 14:25:08 PDT)

The auction expires soon but hopefully the details can still be seen after closing.

I myself sell on ebay and it's hit and miss, but tbh everywhere is, even the auctions here the domains go for a few dollars, I'm a new seller to domain names and find appraisals useless, I can find a url worth £10,000 and over £25,000 a year in potential add revenue and it wont even sell for £1.

It costs a flat fee of $0.50 at eBay.com to list a domain in 'Buy it Now' or Buy it Now + Best Offer' formats and listings can be for up to 30 days. It doesn't matter if the BIN is $1 or $1 million. The cost is still $0.50. It's a lot of exposure for a small price and I've sold several names in the $xxx range when using the 'Best Offer' format.

I've not had to much success, but I did sell one recently for a small profit and I've seen some domains go for £x,xxx range, two in one day infact so money can be made there.

It seems to me a lot of people here talk down on selling domains on ebay, But the fact is it's quick and easy to get a lot of exposure on your domains, I found sedo confusing with it's various levels of selling, ie I wanted an auction but it must go into a fixed price fee first, then get an offer etc etc, Ebay is quick and easy and I would suggest it for anyone just getting into domain selling.

He lists it to get noticed, not to sell it for that, he will accept offers, it's what most people do on there.
