How can I sell a domain name to Yahoo!

Hi, List,

It seems to be a funny question -
I recently got a domain name (after a short biding war in an auction), which is part of Yahoo! well-known product.

I noticed that all the other suffix are taken by Yahoo!, but only this domain name is snatched by me.
So I'm wondering how can I sell it to yahoo, anyone here have some experience please?

If Yahoo is intersted in that domain name be sure you will be contacted by them immediately.

Regardless of actual TMs, if they are actively using the name it would not take much for them to remove it from your portfolio. In the US, use of the name can be just as legally powerful as actually registering the TM.

I'd let them know that you have this name. they might try to be coy with you but eventually if they really want it, they'll come to you. My best bet is instead of parking the name, go ahead and make it look like you are actually doing stuff with it. Once they see that you really have qualms either way. they will be more interested.

Now this model may not work in your favor but heck, it's a try.. right? You have nothing to lose to let them know that you are in possession of the pie and you can make money either way.

Cheers!

As mentioned if the domain is important for Yahoo they will most likely contact you. Potentially you will run into TM issues but that all depends on the specific situation. Just because you have a domain that is related to a product of a large corporation you are not by definition breaking any legal or ethical rules. Without knowing the domain in question it is rather hard to give more specific advice.
