![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Verisign Price Increase July 2010 I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Verisign is going to be increasing prices again effective July 1, 2010. The price increase will be as follows: .COM will increase $0.48 .NET will increase $0.42 What does this mean for you? These ICANN approved rate increases effect ALL domain name registrars who offer the above extensions. Most registrars who do not charge high registration prices will often pass on these increases to the customer. It is up to each individual registrar and reseller to decide wether or not they would like to absorb some of the cost or none at all. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/660032-verisign-price-increase-july-2010-a.html I would like to strongly recommended that if you have any .com or .net domains that are coming due in the near future, now would be the best time to renew them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So long as prices from registrars don't increase $5 just to cover these costs I don't think people will really mind. When you have domains going from $10 to $15 that registrars claim just to justify covering the 50c then that is when people are going to have a hissy fit I think. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=660032 Those few cents add up quickly for many of the domainers here who may need to renew about 50 or so domains or maybe more throughout the current year. For those people, it may be wise to renew before the increase.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Indeed, I am just saying that more than likely some registrars will use this increase as an excuse to raise prices far beyond the extra charges they incur from Verisign. There are probably loads out there with 100s of domains sitting parked while they clean up on great domains that could be developed by someone else...would it really be a great loss to see someone new get hold of them who can develop something? Maybe in a year or two we will really see the effects of this... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont know. I didn't really see much change in how domainers did business during the last price increase. But I know the downfall of the economy in general definitely had an effect on the domaining industry. But the whole purpose of this thread was to just give everyone a friendly little reminder of what was going to be happening. Feel free to take whatever actions you desire.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Pretty annoying for domainers. If you have a portfolio of 1000 parked names that is presently cash-flow neutral (in it's entirety), you're talking 50-60 names that have to get dropped to remain even. |
