Domain Deletion Process

Understanding Domain Deletion Process

Hello Nampros.

I would like to know the exact process of how a domain is released back into the gereral registration pool. At present, I have my eye on a domain that is in the REDEMPTION PERIOD.

O.K. So how would I calculate the exact amount of days until this domain name will drop......

Is it another 30 days until pending delete status?

Any savvy expertise would be appreciated,

That is possible if you know for sure which domain name registrar is being used

It's not an exact science, though, so you just have to keep checking. I recently stalked, er, watched a domain go past the typical cycle before it went to pending delete. (Didn't get it, lol).

From expiration to deletion, ABOUT 76 days, but it depends on the TLD and other factors that escape me.

Also, there seems to be some rule--or at least practice--that if the domain is backordered before if goes into redemption period, it can be kept by the sponsoring registrar and then sold off by its partner (Pool, Snapnames, or Namejet); otherwise, it must drop, where the wolves go after it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm still learning this stuff as well.
