According to a recent study, some sites can increase their traffic by 1% simply by registering “wwwdomain.com” to redirect typo-prone visitors “www.domain.com.” This may not seem like a lot, but even for a site that gets 1,000 visitors per day, this traffic adds up. Take 10 extra visitors per day and multiply by 365, you get 3650. Assume a domain costs $10 and divide that number of 3650, and you’ll realize that you’re paying less than a quarter of a cent ($0.0027) per visitor! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's not just the typos, you can also set wildcard DNS on your domains to capture ww.domain.com or wwww.domain.com etc ![]() If you have 500 visits per day I think it makes sense to make at least one defensive registration. Make you do a HTTP/301 redirect to your main site.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | * Talk about pumpers and dumpers. The domain blogs are currently all agog over .co. Like Yogi Berra once said: It's deja vu all over again. I remember the buzz about .cm, not even a year ago. Then POOF went the registrar, up in flames. Where are all the pumpers now? Off to the next big thing... *
