New sites getting PR fast

In the last two weeks, I have registered two sites (hand-reg drop catches) that returned to their original PR in less than 12 hours.

They are:

ArtOfTrash.com, went right to PR 2 after I reg'ed it yesterday afternoon.
HotYu.com, which did the exact same thing last week, going to PR 1 rigth away.

Has anyone else encountered this phenomenon?

I checked them both with CheckPageRank.net, and both come up as valid.

Admittedly, I have 30 registrations from the same period that didn't pop right up. And there isn't an obvious pattern to those that did.

Does anyone have any insight into this?

Two more today. A PR 4 and a PR 1. Snapped to in less than three hours this time.

Hello. Your artoftrash.com came up in a Google search for me. Hardly anyone searches for the whole name though. What you need to do is type in art of trash with spaces between the words like some one normally would.
I tried that and I could not find you n the first 3 pages. If you are using Google they have a personal search and cache your pages. Try it on a computer that has never searched for the term before to find your true ranking.

It shows no website so you must be building one. You have no ranking at all.

That's not actually what I'm talking about. I'm talking about PageRank, not SERP rank.

PageRank is an arbitrary number that Google uses to quantify the popularity of a particular site.
