Anyone else registering 3D domains?

It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot.

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

The good ones seem to be selling in the aftermarket or are being held onto.

Hand regging is almost an exercise in futlility.

I think the term has to be intuitive and be connected with an actual technology, not just any old term hooked onto "3d."

It's really hard to say at this point. Another term could emerge, like holoTv (already regged--not by me)or something similar.

It might be worth a small investment, but, in my opinion, registering 100's of random 3d domains would be a mistake.

And nothing but dotcoms.

Careful, these latest technology trend names rarely do well in reality. Have a look at how many 3g or voip names have sold over the years, despite the success of these technologies, it isn't many.

After reading Ms Domainer post it just occurred me to go to Sedo and type "3D".

These are the best results I got:

3-d.com Price 60,000 $US Bids : 11

3d.cd Price 1,000 EUR Bids : 1

television3d.es Price 1,600 EUR Bids : 1

3dgaming.net Price 160 $US Bids : 2

PS: I think I did not understand how Sedo works, maybe the price listed is not the same as the price the bidder is offering for the domain?

For example 3-d.com at $60k and 11 bidders, does it mean they have reached the asking price?

The secret is registering a combo of Michael Jackson, iPad, w-o-r-d and 3D. Get all of that in one domain and it's a slam dunk.

3d is a technology that will become hotter then HD. Why?
Because of the new flow of companies producing a LOT of new movies in 3d.
Besides that the big companies like sony/panasonic have been establishing the 3d bluray specs, and are building and launching their 3d HD tv technology.

Soon we will be able to not only watch full 3d at home (3d home cinema is coming), but it will be nothing like what it used to be. This is not the 3d technology with the red/blue glasses anymore, this is way beyond a gimmick.

The owner of 3dtv [dot] com is sitting pretty, I think, but 3d attached to totally irrelevant terms may have a tougher time.

But anything can happen in this biz.

A few people will profit from this trend with good 3d domains, but many more people will lose money (reg fees) from registering silly 3d domains that go nowhere.

2 weeks ago i purchased 3dtv.tv , to match my 3dtvs.tv and hd3d.tv

i have 3dbandwidth ......who knows ??

One i have is 3dgameglasses/com

i was able to get 3-d.com.au as a hand reg

although i cant get a sale on 3dwebsite/s and 3dmail in the .com.au

a bit futher down the track , but i have holographicsex/com
