payment from $1050 lowered to $20 at TDNAM

actually had bidding war with 6-7 bidders over tdnam over a .tv domain.

I`m the winner. however i failed to pay the $1050 winning bid on time. TDNAM suspended my account
and i have been notified that the 2nd highest bidder shall win this auction.

I paid $20 to recover back my auction account and 1 month later found out the domain was actually unregistered.
The domain was not followed up by the 2nd highest bidder. The domain goes into pending delete phrase and i manage to hand register it today.

GREAT SAVINGS. HAHA $1030

Congrats!

GoldPoker.com went for around $10k during TDNAM auction in Jan 2009.
Winner didn't pay nor other bidders. The domain dropped and caught by Namejet and auctioned off for $30,100 in March 2009, DNJ reported.

It happens ...

Must have been some amazing .tv domain to be willing to pay that much for it. But impressive the set of circumstances that went from you winning the auction and eventually getting it as a new registration.

Bragging about being a deadbeat buyer?

People like OP give this industry a black eye.

Interesting story for sure!

Also to note, I didn't know you could buy your way back in after being banned.

I'm not buying it at all.

No one "forgets" about a large pending payment, especially at GoDaddy, who reminds you every five minutes (so it seems).

An ethical person would be ashamed, not bragging about his/her joy at ripping off someone else, even a large company like GoDaddy.

An ethical person keeps his/her commitments, even after he/she realizes that he/she has overpaid--after all, no one made you bid on that domain.

An ethical person refrains from bidding when he/she doesn't have enough money or credit to pay for his/her goods.

In this biz, you're only as good as your reputation, and, OP, I'm afraid yours is shot.

yeh, i`m downright unethical and unprofessional like u said.

i bidded the domain 7 days before it drop with my highest bid already pre-set to $1200 ,the rest are on autopilot. emails are sent to my secondary email, and i dont even read them . my primary income is motor part sales, not domaining , so i`m probably not as ethical and professional.

some will congrats , some will laugh , some will point fingers at you.
this is what makes namepros a great community.

im not taking it personally ,but thx for the great advice.

I wrote about it for 2 reasons...

1. The story of bidding, NPB and getting it later during the drop
2. I didn't know you could get banned and buy back in.

The buy back in for $20 doesn't sit well with me and I hope GD makes a change about that!

I think its for expired auctions only if none of the bidders pay, then they let it drop and dropcatchers might pick up
