Backorder a domain - Expired or Pending del?

Do we backorder domain before it expires or we can still do that as long as it is before pending delete?

You can do it anytime basically, but the question is where you will be ordering a backorder. On GD your backorder credit lasts only for one year, but you can asign the credit to other domain(s) during that period till you catch one. This is first come first serve system, only one backorder per domain allowed.

At Enom's ClubDrop you can only backorder domains that are in Pendingdelete, 5 days tops from the drop date.

Pool, NameWinner, SnapNames have double auction system, so you can contend to the name even after it drops.

At anytime as long as it has not been backorderd by anyone else. If its a good name, then it would be better if you backorder it in advance while is still in RGP otherwise someone can beat you to it.

Most backorder services including GoDaddy allow you to backorder a domain when ever you want to. You can even add a backorder while the domain is still active.

If it is a very important domain would I suggest that you use more than one backorder service. GoDaddy backorder is not the best so if one of the other big backorder services or buydomains.com is after the domain will you not get the domain if you only use GoDaddy.
