This is great news for all of us. Now you can list your premium domains for a higher price.

Before you only could price up to $5000! with the option of increasing commision rate as well.

Now the commission rate is maxed out at 30%

I just listed on of my premiums for $75K US

is there a way to bulk list domains there? Godaddy is so slow, and adding domains one by one is a great pain...

"yes their is, its easy and quick!"

Surely you must be talking about another site. There is nothing about GoDaddy that is easy or quick.

30% commission is good!!! ARE YOU ON DRUGS?

There is no way in the world i would pay anyone 30% to sell a domain, sorry, let me restate that, which i sold.

Is this the only industry in the world that actually competes to make prices higher?

Sedo 10%, BuyDomains 20%, Godaddy 30%!!!

You pay for what you receive. Whereas GoDaddy premium listings receive an enormous number of eyeballs from businesses willing to pay end-user prices, the preponderance of folks browsing Sedo are domainers, with periodic waves of end-users seeping through the cracks. End-users also tend to be more amenable towards transacting through GoDaddy than through Sedo due to GD's brand recognition, and based on my own interactions with end-users over the past year, they are absolutely willing to pay for that added degree of comfort.

As an illustrative example, I listed a certain domain for $1195 on Sedo and for $1495 on GoDaddy (to compensate for the extra commission). A month ago I received a $275 offer for the name on Sedo and I negotiated him/her up to $550, but he/she would go no higher.

Lo and behold, 2 weeks later, I receive a message "Your premium listing has been sold". It was the exact same domain, listed at and purchased for $1495. No negotiations, no work whatsoever required on my part. Just a check in my mailbox for more than 20x what I pai to acquire that domain.

With Sedo, my earnings would have been 90% * $550 = $495.
With GoDaddy, my earnings were 70% * $1495 = $1046.50.

Don't think in terms of "How much is GoDaddy making for doing nothing" -- this is irrational. Think in terms of "Will I earn more money by choosing to list my name with GoDaddy than if I didn't?" Based on my personal experience, the answer is a resounding yes. I have only around 200 names listed with GD premium and have earned over $6K (after commission) purely as a result of these listings.

GoDaddy takes a high commission for a reason. Sometimes you simply need to extinguish the envy flame and flip on the rational economist switch.

You make me sick with your silly post. 30% is an amazing deal, since godaddy has the largest registrar in the world, and spends millions in ADVERTISING - premium listings add your domain name to the search database.. the next time a end user or anyone does a search for a new reg, your domain pops up available for PREMIUM PRICE....

YOU DISGUST ME with your comment. Get a life JERK.

LOL, well i see little good to come out of pushing up domain prices by high commission rates, the whole industry has a greed problem that is embedded and tarnishes everyone in the process unfortunately.

I fail to see how the same service could not be done for less commission.

I agree Sedo has it's flaws, but i dont see a difference that warrants 20%

I admit im not a motivated seller of domains anyway, so i will accept your logic that it works well and many people get value out of it, such as Joshua for example.

You don't seem to get the point!!!! The whole point of paying GoDaddy 30% is because your getting the chance to market your Domain Names to the world market. The same market that is used to register un-registered domains! That by far is one thing Sedo can't mess with! They will never catch up to GoDaddy's growth and influence on the world market.

Sedo is only used by Domainers (98%) - 2% end users!!! Trust me on this, over the years I've seen how influential Sedo is, it delivers poorly for reg fee domain names.

GoDaddy now offers the world market into your hands for 30%!!!!! You register a domain name and list it for $100 to $99,999, minimum return on your investment is $70! Reg fee cost - $7.57!

Like you said, your not a dedicated Domainer!

Thanks JoshuaPZ for sharing your experience with Godaddy Premium listings. I have heard others mention it but have shied away due to the high commission. Most of my domains at Afternic have the basic listing rather than extended promotion as well. But as you state, if you can offset the commission via pricing and gain exposure to an enduser, what counts is sales. I'll give it another look and try it out on a test basis.

So, how do you list them all as a bulk order? Instead of doing one by one?

What did this cost before? Seems like a good deal now. Basically free advertising until it gets results.

Initially I had the same problem entering them. I'm not sure if it was because I was copying from my domain sales site and some spaces might be at the end of the domain or because the domains were already listed at TDNam and it is unclear if this creates a problem. So, I deleted them from TDNam, made sure I deleted any spaces after each name, entered a hard enter, deleted excess lines, and after each domain you need to place ,price. For example...

Domain1.com,500
Domain2.com,750
Domain3.com,1000
Domain4.com,1250
Domain5.com,1500

This evening I entered 81 domains into Godaddy Premium listings and checked a few to see the promotion does work nicely. There is no charge (Godaddy will get a fat commission if they sell). Note that if you go to the Home page and enter the exact phrase, your domain will appear boldly at the top with the price. If the domain buyer types in a phrase similar to your domain, your domain will still appear in the Premium domain listing at the right but in the middle of dozens of other domains. Godaddy only allows .COM, .NET, .ORG English domains into their network but I might just test to see if the filter actually excludes Spanish domains.
