| Senior Member | Hi, I forgot some stuffs but need confirmation. 1) If a person receives a domain from another Godaddy account are they allowed to make transfer to another registrar or do they need to wait for some time. 2) If example if someone wants to renew their domain using a Godaddy coupon and pay it using Godaddy Gift Card is this possible? Also are there any quides related to Godaddy Gift Card? Thats all ![]() Appreciate some good answers. Thanks

| NamePros Regular | 1. whenever there is a change in the whois details (eg. email address) the 60-day no-external-transfer rule applies therefore , when a domain is pushed it can't be transferred to another registrar for 60 days 2. using a coupon is irrelevant with the method of payment just enter the coupon in the coupon field (in the checkout) and press enter ... then , after the page reloads with the discounts , choose 'gift card' as method of payment and enter ther 16-digit code in the next page in the tabs near the bottom of this page ... GoDaddy Gift Cards ...there is more info about gift cards (a guide how to use them as well as FAQS)

| NamePros Regular | GoDaddy's 60 day rule is not set in stone. Many people have complained about it. GoDaddy will allow transfer out, if one complains loud enough. ICANN's policy does not allow registrars to hold domains "hostage", and GoDaddy knows this. Ron

| NamePros Regular | "Registrar Advisory Concerning the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy 3 April 2008 The purpose of this advisory is to assist ICANN-accredited registrars in understanding that under the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy: 1. Registrars are prohibited from denying a domain name transfer request based on non-payment of fees for pending or future registration periods during the Auto-Renew Grace Period; and 2. A registrant change to Whois information is not a valid basis for denying a transfer request. Reference: ICANN | Registrar Advisory Concerning the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy |
