Help! Credit Card charged twice!

Hi,
I recently added funds to my namecheap account by using my credit card , amount $40
but when the summary page showed up, it was $80!!
the add funds history shows two consecutive transactions of $40 each!
has this ever happened to you?
can i be refunded?

Well I havent had it happened to me before. I think you should call them and then call your bank and explain the situation or even at that the domain register should refund you your money back.

Especially talk to the registrar first. They might resolve it without having to talk to the bank...and possibly create more problems.

efil is on a distinguished road

Excess amount paid should reflect in your account there as balance. If not contact them ASAP.

thanks everyone for your help
and yes, the excess amount is there in my account as available funds, so its ok if i do not get a refund now, bt next time im not gonna "add funds" using credit card, i wd directly pay for every item i buy at the time of purchase

You should definetly contact NameCheap, not NamePros.. I'm sure they will refund the funds if charged in error. I'm sure you'll be okay, good companies usually work this thing out pretty quickly.

I am actually surprised NameCheap doesn't have a safeguard against this. For example at some places if your depositing funds, the form will only let you submit a payment once in a 3 to 5 minute period. That way if you press the submit button twice by accident, the transaction will still only go through once.
