hit and miss parking

Over the past couple of years i have regged and parked a few domains. 3 or 4 done ok, hundreds didn't.
My question therefore is, if i am interested in a domain and i check estibot which says it gets 200 visitors a day, alexa is xxx, xxx, there is nothing archived and no previous site listed on google, where would the traffic be coming from and what are the chances that it is genuine? Is it more of a surety that residual traffic will be there if the site is listed on archive org and on google? Is there anything else i can check to lower the odds of failure?

I wouldn't rely on Estibot's traffic estimation.

Best bet is utilise a backlink checker and check archive.org to determine the type of traffic.

I think buying domains to park is a bit silly, parking should be used to "park" them while you get the website developed!

So, are we saying that if alexa is reliable and gives a 6 figure traffic ranking, estibot gives 200 a day, there is nothing on archive. org and google (which i presume means there has never been a site for the domain) the chances of traffic is slim. So, where is estibot and alexa pulling the figures from, thin air? I presume that type in traffic would still be recorded somewhere. Are we saying also that a domain must have backlinks to have traffic and what would i be checking with a backlink checker? Any idea of a good one to use?
