.CC Values?

Anyone have confidence in .CC as a marketable domain extension? Plenty of good domains left:

courtcase.cc
criminalcase.cc
civilsuit.cc
justiceisblind.cc
deprogram.cc
coded.cc
woodwork.cc
expired.cc
customize.cc

Aight, all kidding aside, I'm not "blind" to the fact that everyone I ate lunch with today (The subject came up due to your PM yesterday about .cc domains) didn't have a clue about the .cc domain, and while not "computer people", they are fairly well versed in the web-world.

"cc" has and will be "carbon copy" unless there's a huge marketing push in the other way, in my opinion.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/57287-cc-values.html

BUT, where do you, David, register .cc's and how much do you pay for them?

-Allan, withholding judgement for the moment...

I'm sure there are others.. but I search for available .cc at enic.cc ($30 yr there)...

BTW.. not trying to make a "courtcase" out of this but "carbon copy" aside, I think .cc may eventually come into it's own.. I actually prefer it to .ws for some reason.

I plan to register at least a few from my "super double-secret" .cc list...

BTW- .cc could easily stand for "christianchurch" or "catholicchurch" as well as "christmascheer" to name a few..
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=57287

No applause, just throw NP$..

All the good ones are taken ie "countryclub". I have one that I will be listing at GreatDomains for $5,000/asking, but .cc is their baby and whether or not it will sell is another matter.

I know of at least one that's equivalent to "countryclub" but because it hasn't been registered yet, and "I" plan to register it as soon as I can xfer some funds to my card.. well, I'll let you know when I do... in fact, the OVT on mine is over 106,000 opposed to "country club" at 26,000.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=57287

BTW... good domain.. countryclub was one of the first that came to mind when I first started looking...

I personally feel that the .cc is an outstanding choice as far cctlds go. I have a nice collection... as well as a "list of awesome availables" to register as I see fit. I just had my first .cc accepted to GreatDomains (Science.cc is now listed for $25,000)

IMHO it is worth slightly more, but I'm willing to be a crash test dummy for the greater good.

I like this extension because it's a clean looking extension that matches well with many types of words and phrases. I think once it does catch on, those of us that spent the extra $$ to register the best of the best will be sitting pretty

GD just wants to reel you in at that $19.95 price for .CCs.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=57287

I got some at that price and now to renew they want $39.95!

Namecheap is $28.95 and they won't hit you for an extra $20 at renewal time.

(Been reading this board for months, and I like it.)

Are there any Adult usage restrictions that you know of? Like can we use .cc for adult names/sites/content.

Thanks,

Yep,

Got three choices ...
1) year $39.95
2) year $79.90

3) don't renew and hope to pick it up when it drops.

Gotta love Verisign's enthusiasm (from the enic.cc site):
"Register a .cc domain at eNIC and save up to 25%! .cc is the new .com. If you missed out on the .com revolution, don't worry—.cc is here for you!"

I like them for reasons ManicGirl mentioned above, but only have rights to a couple: sailing.cc, (which pales in comparison to science.cc) and corona.cc which could bring me TM headaches, although my thought was to go the astronomy route. The one I really wanted was "CentralCoast", because I now live on California's Central Coast, but some guy in Wisconsin has it regged and is sitting on it. Touchee.

I hadn't realized how many .cc's are still available... ROI....ROI....ROI....

I just thought of 25 1 word possibilities, only 4 of them were registered....

That's crazy!

Ok, reconsidering even as we type.

Holy crizzap...

Total: $2974.47

For the .cc's I started throwing around like they were .com's ;-)

Then .med's are $120 a year min apparently...

.med's cheaper? Anyone? Anywhere?

Are you sure you didn't try to renew for 2 years?? (that's the default setting at GD, but you can change it to 1 )

I haven't bothered to register many .cc domains yet, but I've got a few that I'm going to develop, and some others just for fun..
The regfee is still a bit high for speculation purposes IMO..

Pornstar.cc I like that one..

I've also received a couple of low-low $xxx offers for a three letter .cc, so the extension isn't completely worthless..

Talking Reg'd another .cc

I just reg'd another .cc ( even though I said I wasn't... not positive on the value). Anyway, there is another .cc word which can still be reg'd. The .com version is listed on www.GreatDomains.com for $250,000. I don't want to spend any more on a .cc. If someone wants it, first one to PM me,and I'll tell you the word!!! Or, you can do a process of elimination, and find it!!!
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=57287

Anyone willing to take gamble? Of course, just because www.GreatDomains.com is listing the .com version, does not guarantee they will accept the .cc version, and if they do, who knows what they will list it for.

I did this once before. I saw baths.com listed for $100,000, then reg'd Baths.tv, it is listed for $10,000!! You never know!!!
