![]() | IDN or punycode registrations Hi, Does it make a difference if you register an IDN type domain name as the punycode or must you use the actual IDN? Does it come to the same thing in the end? I'm having difficulty finding a registrar who registers IDNs in the extension I want and accepts the payment method I'm able to use so I'd like to find out about that. Thanks |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | An IDN is a domain name that contains characters from the Unicode character r. Punycode is an algorithm that uniquely and reversibly transforms Unicode strings into the limited character set supported by the Domain Name System Its same if you use IDN or its puny code. For example: IDN: һԁ.com Puny code: xn--74a4l.com You can type in the puny code in the browser using your English keyboard..... but you dont have unicode characters to type from the keyboard. You cannot type һԁ.com from your keyboard.. since its different from English hd.com.. so you have to use its punycode. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/567904-idn-or-punycode-registrations.html For registering you can use Name.com and dynadot if you use Paypal or credit card.

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=567904 When registering.. Just type the punycode and register it.. You can use this site to convert.. http://mct.verisign-grs.com/index.shtml Lets say you want to register һԁ.com.. Go to this site and convert to punycode. Then go to registrar and register that punycode. Cheers!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Unicode or Punycode... It doesn't matter (Of course, depending on the registrar. There are some where punycode might be required, but I'd definitely consider them 'ancient'). Many of the familiar registrars like Moniker, Godaddy and Dynadot allow both. I recommend Dynadot.com. |
