Help and advice needed please

Hi

I was wondering if anybody could help me. Im new to buying and selling domains. I have brought a few and have been emailing businesses personally to try and sell them. This approach has only worked with a couple of them.

I also dont know how much my domains are worth or know how to find out their price.

Also any other general advice do and donts would be really helpful please. As i am totally lost.

Thanks

Domaining is like riding a bicycle.
No matter who says what, you won't learn just by listening.
You have to ride yourself. That's only way to learn.
And once you learn, it's your forever.

Tips for finding potential endusers, check this out.

However, you should know you'll get more money when enduser approach you first.

The time to find quality domains, perform the administration, and market them should not be underestimated. On the other hand the vast majority of domain sales are under $1500 and domains have to be really good to sell for even $1000 (DNJournal sales are atypical and misleading of the real market). Focus on acquiring two-word commercial .COM domains but expect you won't get these for reg fee. You will have to find them at Snapnames, Namejet or TDNam. Seriously consider development as I have pretty much written off marketing to end users - too much effort for zero payback.

i'm not sure if there's any way around the brutal practice of trial and error. you're going to miss most of your free throws before you start hitting them.

take it one domain at a time and stick to a conservative budget. keyword.com's are the best to own, "keyword" being defined as any term that is google searched, ideally you'd want a keyword that was a product or service. they typically get traffic since anything that can be google searched can also be typed into a web browser with a .com at the end.

you can find them for cheap scanning through long lists at tdnam and namejet all day. avoid buying them off other domainers. if you have a keyword.com in mind that you want but was already registered you can try contacting the end user directly. you may get lucky and get a cheap sale, especially if nothing is developed on it and they haven't tried parking it.
