Sedo complaint thread

They can't seem to close the deal. I have had several auctions or accepted offers never close out. The 'buyers' are just messing around, or there is scammery involved. Either way, I think Sedo is way over-rated at best, or a scam itself. And then the people at Sedo don't have the courtesy to respond to my inquries about the status of a transaction that is going nowhere.

Maybe I am the only one that has has bad dealings with this company. Sedo does not understand the meaning of the phrase 'customer service'. Yes, I would love to have one of their reps contact me. ButI am guessing I won't hear back from them.

Yeah, I've had a non-paying bidder and they didn't do anything until almost a month passed and I e-mailed them asking, "What the hell is going on?"

Mrdomainman

seems you were shorted as the name is parked at Sedo you should only have to give them 10%. You need to contact Sedo and ask why the big commision.

Sedo Sucks!

Hello everyone,

I thought i needed to get this off my chest as i am very pi$$ed off!
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/567821-sedo-complaint-thread.html

Today it seems sedo canceled my account, this is where it gets annoying.

Sedo never contacted me in any way to notify me of this, nor did they give me a reason to the cancelation.

I have been putting up with their joke of a PPC service on my parked names for the past 4 years, i actually thought that their marketplace was ''okay'', but over the past 6 or so months ive seen such a downturn in their service and quality of names at auction. Even when you find a legitimate buyer the transaction gets stretched for months. (i had a sale take 4 and a half months to go through after the buyer made payment in week 1)

The thing that annoys me the most is that i have 3 transactions that have been canceled because of this, each transaction sale worth low to mid $x,xxx.

For me the Sedo bubble has burst, i will never use their so called service again.

Sorry to hear about your Sedo problems. Maybe the .MOBI market will gain some traction and you'll have something to smile about again. Stranger things have happened. I think.

Since Sedo implemented its verified bidder program I haven't had any problems with non-paying bidders. I'm sure it still happens but not as much.

Frankly, 10% is too low. If they increased the fee they could provide additional service.

I'd never suggest the biggest domain auction hose -- with $75M in sales last year -- to shut down

I would contact them. They cancelled my account before. Turns out it was an error on their part. Sucks because I had to redo a bunch of my parked domains.

Child Abuse Child Abuse
I have never had issues with Sedo sales taking months. Even if there is a sale and buyer takes more than 2 weeks I ask that the sale is cancelled and the domain relisted. It's never been a problem. When payments do occur I have recieved either my check or paypal payment promptly. Once it took like 3 days for the payment..I think that's the longest I had to wait.

10% is reasonable enough IF they can close the deal but too often they are not. I had 2 good sales fall out the past 6 months. One was high $x,xxx too. I could have used that income.

Sedo charges different fees for some of the more exotic extensions. You need to check there price list before selling.

I think that 10% is very reasonable when you compare that to escrow.com or even Paypal, and when you consider that they provide the marketplace which finds the buyers. Selling a name on Sedo and paying 10% fees, is like selling on ebay and paying ebay and Paypal a combined 10%. My fees there run much higher.

I have been experiencing the same thing recently. I haven't had one fall through in a while.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=567821

Also, how do you guys know Sedo isn't doing anything to the bidder? They told me that they ban the bidders account and I am not sure how you guys would know that they didn't do that to your non-paying bidders.

I also have a transaction pending for almost 1 month.
Seems like the buyer isn't going to pay but Sedo guys don't even reply to my e-mails.

Even with their new "Transaction center" launched they don't answer e-mails/inquiries.

Thumbs down for Sedo...

Pathetic service if you ask me.

I paid for a featured listing prior to the maintainence downtime this past weekend. The number of visitors to the listing hasn't changed since!! I'm being told that this is not unusual as the visitors are from the last 31 days, well guess what......The visitors that were recorded were mainly from the start of my featured listing which was march 11th.....This is well within the last 31days and they should be increasing, not static!

I believe there may be something wrong with the hit counter since Sunday but no one will listen.

I have had many featured listings prior to this one and they have all recorded increased views day after day....Something is not right.

Is there anyone else experiencing the same problem with a featured listing?
