Willing to Pay for Expert Domaining Help

1) I have a confession: I am REALLY bad at domaining
2) Tragically, I really like domains, and I have quite a few (1,000+)
3) Some of you seem to actually know what you are doing
4) I'm willing to pay for high quality help

Conclusion - let's make a deal.

A) You review my portfolio, pick a few domains that you are confident you can make profitable.
B) Tell me how you want to be paid (hourly, flat fee, share of profits, one or more domains from my portfolio, etc).

My domains (all english):
Most are correctly spelled, two or three word .com or .org domains, without hyphens or other oddities.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/567117-willing-to-pay-expert-domaining-help.html
Some are single word domains.
A few are typo domains.
I have many geo-specific domains, finance related domains, and a few product or service niche domains.
I also have a wide mixture of domains in miscellaneous categories, some of which I particularly like.

That's it. If you know how to make domains profitable, and are confident in your skills, then send me a note. Take an hour to look through my domains, pick a few you are confident in, and let's make a deal.

Be careful with your money! Take in all of the advice you see here. Take what is useful and discard the rest.

Hello ottac,

I think everyone has been in your shoes, feeling overwhelmed at times and if you are doing the "right things". 1000 names is a considerable investment, you can't be afraid to "weed" out names......

My one caveat: Be careful exposing your portfolio to folks.

Seriously, someone possessing certain information can be very harmful.

Good luck.

Thanks has2hands.
Should I ask responders to at least send me a quick confi email before sharing my full list with them? I've already had a couple people respond, and I would like to share my info with them and see what they have to say, but I also want to stay reasonably protected.

Something simple like:
I agree to keep all information (including without limitation domain names, development ideas, and the terms of any agreement) confidential, and not to distribute any such information to any person or in any fashion without your prior permission.
I agree that I will only review any information provided for the purpose of evaluating a potential mutual agreement, and that I will not use or exploit, or permit others to use or exploit, any such information except pursuant to the terms of an agreement with you.

I don't want to scare anyone off, though, and I'm sure there are tools out there that would enable someone to find most of my domains, if they really wanted to. They could also find some of my info from whois for many of the domains.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=567117

But it would be nice to at least have a commitment from folks up front, and I think the above is fair enough and true to the terms of my original posting...

I think it takes nerve to admit that here.....and is really a strong point of yours. You gotta' know your abilities. If you are weak somehow get help.

The first thing I noticed is that you want someone to look at your portfolio and help you make some of the domains profitable. Well......there is your first mistake (at least the way I buy domains). I don't buy domains to "make" them profitable. The profit is already built in if you purchase your domains using the right methods.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=567117

What you are saying is, "Here is an empty lot....help me build a building". But, really you should buy the lot with the building on it already ( and I don't mean developed domains)".. What I mean is domains that have traffic already. You must buy the eyeballs that come to certain generic domains, not buy the domain and try darn hard to get folks over to your domain.

It's the, "Why buy the milk when you can buy the cow" argument. The question you should ask yourself is, "How can I buy profitable domains, not how can I make these domains profitable".

I guess I said the same thing many ways here.....but I wanted to drive home the point.

Truly, if you request professional help, this is the best place to ask. Many great minds and true professionals.......but check out their past posts and get a feel for them.

Maybe lurk a little

The confi is nice, but like you stated, your domains can be tracked down. Since you are letting it all hand out, a small token of assurance on their part is reasonable.

You will be approached by many, I think the flood gates are opened!

You can also keep folks posted here, keep your thread alive.

Good luck.

Keep the shooter

Some people show everyone all their domains. Here is something to think about though. If you have some names that you feel are better than most and are wanting to register more of the same yet you are lacking resources or you have not the time too register those out yet be careful. I say that as you will give many good ideas away and may find when you do go to register those domains that they are taken. Don't shoot yourself in the foot I always say.

One of the most difficult things to do is to shed our domains we now realize are weak. To do so we must. Pruning dead branches will make our domain tree grow stronger.

Amen to that.

It makes you cringe at first when you see other domainers buying the ones you let go, but just realize, most likely if you did your due diligence studying the doamin's worth before letting them go, then they new registrants won't be able to make them succeed without development.

There is a battlefield saying: "Never back up failure with reinforcements". The reasoning is that if that if you add additional troops to a losing battle, you will lose those troops also. The same is true with domains.....if they don't make you money and you think you can't sell them.....don't renew (reinforce) them. There goes more resources that could be applied to new money-making domains. Applying this concept, your business will then grow quicker and you will never look back with regret.

Why don't you post a few of your better ones (at least the ones you think are better) in the Domain Appraisal forum? That way, judging by the responses, you might better gauge your domaining prowess.

Domaining can get addictive so you definitely have to be careful. If your domains are indeed no good (I have no idea other than your word most are), call it money lost and let them go. You sound like you have a good direction in what you're registering though.

Lots of people have domains that belong in the flophouse. Very few wish to learn why. Your questions show you are not a dumb domainer. Take your time with the commitment to register a domain. Learn as much as you can about the subject and the market for a domain you like. Then register the best one you can in a .com that reflects all that you know.

Truth is. Just about every drop of information that exists can be found in this forum. Its about digging and hunting and even asking. However, there are several domainers on this forum that also make a living in this business. Although they are willing to help at a price, you might be better off saving some cash and just looking for help here.
