![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | SnapNames frustrations So I've been watching a few domains all morning in my auctions tab in SnapNames. I had the high bid for some time and had just recently been outbid. I was waiting a bit closer to the auction's end before bidding again when I get an error stating the auction had already ended. I had refreshed the page dozens of times and the auction still read 22 minutes left. After watching it wind down without being able to outbid the highest bidder, the auctions vanished a few minutes before they were scheduled to end. I called up support and they didn't seem to care much. They weren't going to honor my word without some sort of proof - was I supposed to think to take a screenshot when it happened? I guess they don't log errors on the site to see I had attempted to bid multiple times before the auction's end. I also wouldn't be calling had I legitimately wanted to pass on bidding further. The highest bid had been placed a while before the auction's end and if they were able to check the logs, they'd see I refreshed dozens of times between the last bid and the auction's end and tried multiple times to outbid them (by more than the minimum increment, even). End time: 06-Mar-2009 12:55 PST ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/565042-snapnames-frustrations.html Last (winning) bid: 06-Mar-2009 12:13 PST I guess there's many more fish in the sea, right?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | was I supposed to think to take a screenshot when it happened? Yes, a Screen Shot speaks much louder then words. Also, no.. SnapNames could or would not be able to tell if you were hitting your "refresh" button. I assume you are aware of Proxy Bidding? Auctions at SnapNames.com nearly All end at 2:15 PM CT. An auction can and does extend on last minute bids.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Kevin, As I mention to you earlier, you probably ran into a browser cache/cookies issue. SnapNames can't help you with this sort of problem because the issue falls purely on your end. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=565042 If you see the auction timer get "stuck", first try logging out of SnapNames and back in again. If that doesn't work, clear your browser cache/cookies and try logging out/in again. If still no dice, try a different browser. If, after all of these steps, the auction timer STILL reads the same, then SnapNames does indeed have a bug and they would be willing to examine your screenshots illustrating that bug. As Yofie said, ALL SnapNames drop/pre-release auctions end at 2:15pm CT except when the auction becomes extended due to last-minute bidding.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm 100% certain that caching was not the issue. After taking a close look while monitoring today's auctions, it appears there are some timestamps causing the "estimated time left" ticker to be off. Right now it's seems to be about an hour off, I just won two auctions with still an hour left. I'm taking screenshots to send in to Moniker.

And imho you shouldn't wait to try and snipe auctions if you really want the domain. It appears to have bit you in the ass.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well it's been about a week and a half since I emailed David @ Moniker (the guy I talked to on the phone) and still haven't heard anything. I saw the same thing happen the day after I created this thread, so I took and sent in screenshots. Even after my follow up a few days later, I haven't heard anything, not even acknowledging that they had received the email and bug report (with proof as requested).

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I always say it's wise to create a support ticket. Moniker's ticket system works pretty well. http://www.moniker.com/do/support Many times rep's are pretty busy and the support ticket system works better and faster.
