What does "360" mean?

I've seen some recent sales of names with "360" ... like, green360.com, boxing360, football360.com, srilanka360, dynamite360.com, etc.

Don't get the 360 part. What does it mean?

Is that it? I figured there was some slang meaning I wasn't getting. Things like 24-7 ("all day every day") and 101 (introductory) make sense in some names. Still not sure how 360 ("circle" or "full circle" or "revolution" maybe...) makes sense in these names.

Animal Rescue
It means "waste a bunch of effort to spin around just to be facing the same direction you were previously."

I'm not really a fan of 360 domains. I haven't been doing domains for very long, but I imagine it's only popular because of Xbox.

Ahh.. the Xbox connection. Hadn't thought of that. That might explain why it (ie, 360) got popular a few years ago, when the Xbox 360 came out.

Yeah that makes sense too. 360 could mean "total" or "complete" or "comprehensive". That would work with some of the 360 names I listed above.

I had 154 domains with 360.com
Left the 360 trend before some time
Good looking domains but few resellers or end-buyers appreciated this suffix

The sale dynamite360.com at sedo was mine

I never got into nor liked the 360 thingy... alot of people jumped at the hype, some people made money, others lost.

Zilla is kinda cool and I find works better then 360, mind you its a very old thingy.

Yeah... It seems a bit desperate. I own a few 360 domains myself, but since they are XB360.eu and XB360.info they actually make sense!

When i see that even with the support of huge marketing like Symantec with Norton360 the trend doesn't go up then i find hard to believe that will give sufficient results any time soon.

I have about 6-10 360 domains. About 4-5 purchased from dotnom. I kinda like them. But dotnom was kinda brave going in as heavy as he did with those 360 names.

As far as Im concerned they could have used something better suited, the domain doesnt describe what the site is about.

Congrats on the sale just the same
