Caution Scary PayPal: A true halloween story

What I learnt from these wild, eye-opening exchanges (see below):

(1) If I no longer agree with the user/privacy agreement, I should close my account right now while it is still in good standing

(2) It's best to change checking account or fill out an ACH cancellation form at the bank

(3) A limited account can only be closed (agreement terminated?) if it is first delimited
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/53946-scary-paypal-a-true-halloween-story.html

(4) Personally, these were very scary stories and I have since been trying to avoid Ebay and other activities which require Paypal services

Limited accounts have funds held for 180 days for "security reasons"
Deposit retroactively and unilaterally reversed even though withdrawal request was made when the account was still in good standing

Inability to close account and terminate the user agreement
Paypal employee advises perusal of point E of the Privacy Agreement

An account can never be closed if it has been limited and the user agreement can never be terminated
PayPal will continue to have access to user's checking account

Dan Grossman will become famous soon enough

The 180 day "security reasons" are due to credit card regulations. They are protecting themselves against your customers doing chargebacks on their credit cards which they can do up to 6 months after making a purchase with you.
