If a domain is regged 1 week ago, make sure to point out to buyers that the domain is not transferable for 60 days... don't let the buyer buy the domain and then tell him the domain is not available for transfer!

This is very important! When you list a domain in an auction or sales thread, make sure to list all facts.

i spend money to make the transfer to find out it was denied, and assumed the domain may be hijacked.. it took me 5 hours to figure out, the domain is a new registered .com only few days old..

if the seller originally pointed all the facts honestly, i would have had a smoother transaction!

Also, when you have 0-1 trader rating, don't expect buyers to trust you. it takes more then few + trader ratings to get on peoples trust list!

thats it for today, hope this message improves our trading online
Good Message.

Check expiration before you buy..... I really do not think this is the sellers fault IMO. Plus its not like its hidden from you .

I dont agree with you on this one. All information is public, in regards to when a domain name was updated. I think perhaps no one should assume a domain can be transferred. I also dont understand what the problem with a Push is.

The seller pointed out the date of expiry so really you should have noticed that it was a new reg. I dont think any blame should be here. Its important when buying and selling you do your own homework.

If you wanted the name why cant you just continue with the deal and transfer out as and when time is up You still have full control of the name.

It is just the way business works these days. I mean if you go to buy a house in foreclosure no one is going to tell you if there are any liens on the property, that is why they have public records for property liens. If you buy a car most of the time the seller won't disclose everything, that is why there are services like CarFax.

Unfortunately that is just the way the world turns. I would never lie to a potential buyer but I certainly am not going to throw everything on the table:

example: ok sir I know you are interested in my domain bobsbobbers.com, I just regged it for $8 about 3 weeks ago so you will have to keep the registrar godaddy, also my asking price is $2900.00...
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=536434

just my thoughts.

xXx DOMAINER xXx sometimes there are locks like this on domains and the owner has no idea of them. For instance something as little as a whois change can lock up a domain for 60 days.

I wish there was a seperate sales forum for new registrations under 60 days. I could then save myself a LOT of time. People reg stuff and withing a week post it here. It's a waste of time imho. Maybe adding reg date along with exp date is a good idea for a new requirement.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=536434

What would be really really awesome...a simple tag that when you create the sales thread you can put [domain]example.com[/domain] and it would grab the relevent information and place it in the post. You couldn't get easier than that. The output could be simple format like this:

Example.com
Registration date:
Expire date:
Pagerank:
Estibot:
Google Cached:
Alexa Rank:

It would be a small load to the forums but imho worth it.

Stop being lazy & look up the information. If one does not do all the research on a potential purpose, then they have no right to complain about anything.

No need for this if one takes the short time to look something up. It doesn't take even 60 seconds to look up basic information on a name.

All basic information should be listed, but should ALSO be checked and verified by any potential buyer.

One point if you should not deal with people with a trader rating of 0, exactly how can they get any trader ratings if no one deals with them?.

I do that now. It's not a matter of being lazy. It's a matter of saving me time. Time is money. Only lazy people don't know that. If I can save myself 20 minutes in a day that's 2+ hours a week...that's 100+ hours a year. That's almost 2 full work weeks. What you think is lazy I see as 2 weeks of income lost every year.

And it wouldn't take much to implement my suggestion which would enhance the sales area here and add a unique feature. It might even bring in more sales threads which could be very beneficial to everyone.

I had a situation where I bought a domain and it was pushed to my godaddy account. A week or so later I got an offer on Sedo and pushed it to auction. The winner was from Europe and for some reason was unable to have a Godaddy account. It was only then that I realised that there was a 60 day lock on the domain because of the changes made when pushed to my account.
Thankfully the buyer was okay with this and was prepared to wait it out as he realised that we were both in an unusual position that we had no control over.

Vice versa as well ! But honestly it takes litterally 15 seconds to look at a whois.
