![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Would you be happy if it happened ?? Well if ICANN would release expired domains on a random date and time after their expiration date would this be in benefit for an average domainer or not? please share your views in this regard.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | your average domainer has a better shot of getting domains through the bidding process of Pool or Snapnames. Random drops would just hook up the scripters.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | no, i would not. a better policy would be opening up the purchase of these names to the general public as opposed to a few select companies. i agree there's a problem, but would be in favor of a different solution. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Seems like there is one common view that ICANN should do some modifications in its Expiring Domain Policy so that an average person/domainer has a better chance of getting good domains at a comparatively better price.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont really think its a big deal that there are companies catching the drops, I think its inevitable and it really isnt wrong since it would cost them a lot to do this and they are just trying to make a buck like all of us. The problem is when domains dont drop and the registrar renews it and sells it themselves like netsol does through NameJet. I think ICANN should not allow this and make some sort of rule which would mean these domain have to drop. It might not change much since the same companies will probably catch the good ones but at least it gives others some sort of chance, even though its small. Another thing that can be done is to make tasting is more restricted or the fee charged for it is increased then I think we will see the big companies trying to catch less domains and only go for ones they know they can sell for sure. |
