I purchased a ccTLD entitled 'insurancecapitol'

Speaks for itself, realised about 5 seconds after submitting my payment.

Doh! Only done this once... bought a name via NameJet auctions... placed a bid of around $120 on:

musicispace.com

Sleepy eyes failed to notice the "i" in the middle... sadly everyone else did... and my bid stood to be the highest.

I wonder if it'd make better sense in another language?!

:-/ Long shot!

Did the exact same thing, thought I found a gem on $5 bin tdnam and bought lifessentials .com. Moments later I realized my mistake. Managed to sell it a couple of months later on tdnam for $15.

Anyway, good luck with it

Lol this is actually a feel good thread huh? Good to know we're not alone in making mistakes, it happens to the best of us. Good way to learn and be more "awake" next time.

Maybe we should see who made the costliest mistake? lol...

2 ccTLD on the very same night when I can barely open my eyes, I spelled 'Mortgage' as 'Mortage' and I happily went to bed thinking I stumbled upon 2 gems.

Surprisingly, there was traffic!

Burnt quite a hole in my pocket

Help The Homeless - Holiday 2009
In my pre-firefox browser days, I slipped benifits into my info portfolio wandering why it was still available. The silver lining was ovt wordtracker showed many others made the same mistake

Interestingly enough, it more than pays for itself!

i regged SanteFeFYI.com instead of a SantaFeFYI.com a couple of years ago.
i realized my mistake about three months later.
by that time i had become a seasoned domainer and, though the correct spelling was still available, i was no longer interested in that geo market so I passed.

NOTE TO NEW MEXICO TRAVEL AGENTS: SantaFeFYI.com is still available
