Banner Exchange Programs

Hi everyone-

I've been reading some threads about sedo cancelling people's website sales listings due to "unnatural traffic" or something along the lines of that. Well I was just wondering what they might consider to be unnatural traffic. I used to participate in a banner exchange program and I deleted their code from my site as soon as I read those threads, thinking that might be what they mean.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/52571-banner-exchange-programs.html

Do you all think that participating in banner exchange programs might be viewed as falsified traffic? My stats have not changed since I deleted the code, but I just wanted to know, as I've been thinking about searching for some good banner exchange programs, but I don't want to do it if it's considered deceitful.

Your input will be very much appreciated!

Thanks-

Ali

That's a valid question, but I haven't heard or read anything suggesting banner traffic would be included as false traffic...

This happened to me with a domain that was getting in the neighborhood of 2500 uniques a day, but the traffic didn't convert very well. I only had 5 or 6 clicks for a buck 50. I sent several emails to sedo, but was never able to get a straight answer on the question of "What exactly is considered unnatural traffic". I was directed to the tos, which only talked about forged or fake clicks. Their decision on what is "unnatural" seems competely haphazard and without any real definition either in the faq or tos. In the end, I simply moved all my names away from there.

Thank you for your feedback...

I guess I'll wait a while to participate, until there is more info available about these programs.

Thank you for taking the time to respond
