If you haven't read this online yet... there is talks of a new metal called Buckypaper. It is supposed to be 10 times lighter and 500 times stronger than steel. They will be making cars and airplanes out of this stuff!

Hi comcloset. It's a nice idea, but I think the problem is in the names you chose - just MHO. I wouldn't go to "steelcar.com" to buy a car. I know it's a new material, but still I don;t think the names that will valuable will be buckypaper(something made of buckypaper).com. I'd look for something more like buckypapernews.com or aboutbuckypaper.com or something like that.

I agree 100%, also I agree that you should be prepared to pay renewal fees for many years into the future.

I am just thinking that these domains could be valuable to some people out there involved with buckypaper. If not, oh well... I guess I will learn my lesson.

@jacal1 - I am happy with my domain choices. All of the hype surrounding the product relates to cars and airplanes thus increasing the amount of search results for those phrases. I think there will be a moment in the future (who knows how long from now) where a company will unveil the first 'buckypaper car' or an airline will come out with the first plane made out of buckypaper material.

imho when you want to consider future technologies you shouldn't go beyond about a 3 year scope...

5-10 years to wait for a maybe if product is going to cost you some deep reg fees on a lot of domains that may never bear fruit...

As an example I have multipointinput.com which I hope does well with the new Surface OS and other such touch screen devices using multi touch.
