Just an FYI. It's always best to put "Went For" instead of sold. The only way a domain name is SOLD is if it's Paid For.

So for now, Address.net Went For $20,010 via Sedo and is pending payment and transfer.

I agree, that would be a nice price. Several nice one word .net's were all passed yesterday during Aftermarket.com's auction... so that would be a nice boost for .net's.

I have a a good feeling about single word .nets in the future esp as generic .com prices continue to rise

Yikes. That's about $15,000 more than I'd pay. Then again, I'm not a .net fan by any stretch of imagination. Good price for the current owner.

I don't like .net generally but I think this is one case where both buyer and seller made a good deal..

Given the recent , and generally fairly low, generic .net sale prices, this one certainly is an anomaly. It'll be interesting to see what happens with it from here.

I think it obviously has alot of applications from address search to shipping data to mapping. Only drawback is the extension.

Im up there with you Steve. This price seems a bit foolish on the buyers end. Im not a big fan of the applications of this domain name, and for the same cash, one could do some nice damage right now.

Again its down to the end user and the plans they have for it, they may be sitting on a great idea and already have plans in place for a good income from it!!

I know we all talk about the end user, but this really is a good case of what will be paid for a name that some think ummmm only worth xxxx

Agree.

A good barometer for top tier one word .nets. Address is obviously amongst the best.

.Com has a good concept.

looks like the .net forwards to a Finnish site right now..

I personally think that address.net is very brandable - though it is a dot net, it has a nice ring to it, I could imagine it being said in a television commercial even.

Still, if they advertise in any way besides a direct link, the traffic they will lose to address.com will be considerable, in fact even if they advertise on the internet only they will still lose a lot of traffic to address.com from people forgetting and typing it in wrong, but in my opinion address.net is still an example of a very good .net. Perhaps that sounds contradictory, but the point is that with .nets losing some traffic to .com just goes with the territory and its still a good name despite this.
