Ever see someone else using your domain on THEIR website ?

I'm guessing this may happen alot due to the subconscious power of the .com after years of use and branding.

Have you ever seen someone else using your domain on their website ?

www.DordogneHotels.net - check the title which says .com which I happen to own

You guys have any other similar experiences ?

I've been getting free PR 6 and PR 5 links from a company claiming one of my Domains is part of their Network for the past 2 years ...

I was wondering why a Parked Domain held PR 4 for over a year

I made a mini-site a while ago on a .net and accidently used the .com in the title and throughout the site. After i realized my errors i corrected them pretty quick. Just used to .com so much that it took over my head when creating that site lol.

Atleast is a little bit of free advertising !

Yes. I have seeen typos of my domain names that suddenly bring me huge traffic. The best is when those names are parked and it just rakes in money.

It actually seems like the 'typo' was intentional. Perhaps the website owner was trying to rank higher for people who type in DordogneHotels.com via Google?

This just highlights the fact that .com is so much superior to its .NET counterpart. Any free traffic is good! :-)

Did they previously own the .com?

I had a funny one the other day when trying to sell [example].com to the owner of [example].net.

He emailed me back and the email ended:

Best regards,

John Smith

A lot of people mentioned my domain ABCDE.COM in their articles as a sample domain name. It brings around 300 - 400 daily traffic to my site which increased my hosting cost... D4MN ...
