GoDaddy offers Premium domains straight after a search

I searched for globalbrand.org on GoDaddy because it "was" available in an availability checker I used ... and I saw that GoDaddy offers globalbrand.net as a Premium Domain right on the top of the search (in the alternative extensions)

the price was for $1,888 and I therefore thought it was a BuyDomains domain ... a quick whois later showed that it actually belongs to BuyDomains (RareNames , WebReg)

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/511057-godaddy-offers-premium-domains-straight-after.html

therefore it seems that the system for BuyDomains , and I think for DeepBlueSea and Fabulous , is already in place so as to sell Premium Domains through some registrars

(sidenote: I also checked the recently discussed printlinks.com domain ... and it is also available for sale right after search for $4,340 , the same price that it is on the BuyDomain site)

been there for quite a while now, if you have a fabulous account you can list your domains registered at fabulous in the system as well, they added it as an option as well on godaddy resellers where you get $50 if anything marked Premium sells on your reseller site.

old thread that touched on it...

I knew about the Premium Domains in the tabs underneath the search results , but this is the first time I saw Premium Domains being added in the top of the search results (where the alternative extensions are)

I think that with the marketing GoDaddy has towards the general public , showing prices in the search results like that (next to the actual domain being searched) it can affect the opinion of the general public about the value of domains and of their prices (I mean aftermarket prices)

good point, godaddy definitely has some eyeballs on it due to their advertising, I have a handful of domains registered at fabulous but I haven't submitted anything for the DDN network, may have to try 1 someday, I believe if your search is a dead on match of a domain in the system then it will list it above in the extensions, if it is not a dead on match then it just throws related domains down in the premium box.

yeah , it appears to be so ... exact matches appear on top , while similar domains (containing same/similar keywords) appear in the Premium Domains tab at the bottom

I think though that the exposure on the top is pretty big since even firstcomers or non-experienced-with-domains people will easily see it

(while the tab at the bottom needs some navigation or some experience with GoDaddy's search result page)
