![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Although I agree this is extremely worrying, I doubt boycotting them woud do any good. All that would happen is domains would sell forcheaper of their employees would get the domains for even less.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Great read In either case, it's agreed, it's extremely worrying when things like this arise. Because you have to wonder, does the auction house itself own the domain - or is one of the employees driving up the price? < And that's thoughts I'd have even before this all happened, now it's confirmed that it can and may very well happen / be happening. Sad really. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Strange that they are allowed to do this, it's like auction houses that bid on their own auctions to earn more money (chill bidding) or whatever it's called

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, lets encapsulate what we do know... 1. GoDaddy, Netsol and Tucows officially don't offer a level playing field by selling domains dropping via them to their official 'marketplaces' - tdnam, namejet, afternic. I'm sure all the major 'drop' services have some kind of sweetheart deal on with various registrars. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=489770 2. This is expressly prohibited by ICANN via the RAA.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=489770 4. Front running has been going on forever - http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...d-deleted.html http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...hese-guys.html http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...b-parsons.html http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...o-domains.html http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...registrar.html http://www.namepros.com/legal-issues...t-give-my.html http://www.namepros.com/industry-new...hand-hand.html http://www.namepros.com/legal-issues...ddy-spies.html http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...e-it-when.html 5. This has been discussed on NP - http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...egistrars.html 6. What can you do about it - Tell ICANN that language MUST be added to the Registrar Agreement to ABSOLUTELY PROHIBIT registrars from WAREHOUSING OR SPECULATION IN DOMAIN NAMES BY REGISTRARS.
