I imagine that this is the case... they wouldnt stop people pouring more money in to the system.

Their phone number is on the website, it would be interesting to get it confirmed.

I think SnapNames really needs to take this issue seriously and provide me a GENUINE solution. I have few domains that expired yesterday because I couldn't log into the site.

Lost

I was getting ready to log in to snapnames to buy one of their $9 domains (1 day remaining) when their site went down. Now the domain is showing enom in the whois.

Again, I lost using snap a few weeks ago when I backordered a couple of names showing pendingrenewalordeletion in the nameserver. I always thought that that NS was networksolutions, which I thought went to snapnames. The next thing I new these domains were showing some guy in Hong Kong and a 2009 expiration date in the whois.

I sure miss the days when we could count on first come, first served backorders. Backorders that meant something.

Networksolutions domains go to NameJet, not SnapNames.

Not that I can tell. They are clearly having serious issues. It looks like they might be down until the 8th by the message on their site.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/489171-snapnames-site-unavailable.html

Auctions that were scheduled to end on July 4th and July 5th Pacific will now end on July 8th.

I assume this will be updated again today adding the 6th to it.

Thanks Snapnames. I was going to bid on a domain, but since you are down, ENOM got it. That's great customer service. Thanks a lot.

Here's hoping it shows up on NameJet now.

Thanks for nothing Snapnames.

I'm surprised that the end of domain tasting didn't result in a sudden attack of ethics for these auction sites. I've no idea what is going on with Snapnames though.

I'm not seeing any message on their site as per Yofie's post. I can only see the standard message saying they are "briefly unavailable"..Where is anyone seeing the other message(s) / announcements?

I also phoned Snapnames and just got through to voice-mail. There was no recorded announcement of site-outage.

As for the the auctions that were going on, I hope they will continue and not be released somehow (I was bidding on a very nice one with one other person).

EDIT:

Actually when I log out of manage.snapnames I get this msg as well...

snap has always been fair about re-running auctions and extending auctions in our experience. they lose money when customers can't catch & bid, so it is reasonable to assume that this is some sort of tech glitch.

any idea what company register.com names will most likely to be picked up by?

i had Snapnames down as register.com's preferred partner, but if snap is down, any clues as to the best way to backorder a register.com name?
