Hi all,

Does anyone here know for sure if GoDaddy allow multiple accounts with the same account / billing info but different login details? :?

Thanks

I don't know for sure the answer to your question and I don't know the reason why you would need that.

However, depending on your needs, you might find useful to know that you can add users as AccountExecs in GoDaddy so they can use a separate account to access the folders (and domains) for which you give them permission to manage.

After adding an AccountExec, you assign the folders (and domains) that the AccountExec can access. You can give multiple AccountExecs access to a single folder, and you can give an AccountExec access to multiple folders.

That could be an easier and more efficient solution for you, but it really depends on your needs. :)

michaeldotcom, yes..... absolutely. I have many of them and I use them to separate profitable domains from unprofitable domains, and for other various categorizations.

I prefer separate accounts since they are stand-alone entities. I did this so that if anyone ever got my login details they would only be able to empty one account of domains not all of them. I therefore split my profitable domains up into several accounts and unprofitable in fewer accounts. You obviously may have other reasons to want to do it but this is why I did it.

There is one drawback though - going from account to account to make changes or pay for domains.

So it's allowed. GoDaddy don't mind such accounts? Same account / billing info but different login details? So we can push bad domains to another GD account and keep good ones in one. Right?

Absolutely. I do it all the time

If you go to close an account at some point they merge it with another account of yours. No account is ever deleted ; I suppose it is just a fail-safe method they have deployed to not lose domains or accounts

EDIT: I meant to add that Godaddy does not mind it. My account rep knows about all my accounts and has the Credit Cards listed for each account to process when renewals or other new domains enter.

Do you have the same email address for each of them?

Yes when they took them over they created a new account for me but now I just moved them all to the one account.

so what prevents someone from bidding on their own domains then to make it more active?

Wow, that was an old thread you just bumped haha
What you are describing is shill bidding. They will see it easily if you attempt to do that and you could get your auction account banned
