Confused with the transfer process of Godaddy

Hi,

I purchased a domain name which current registrar is 1and1. The seller unlocked the domain name and sent me the Auth Code.
I am going to transfer the domain from 1and1 to my GoDaddy account.

What I have done:
1. login my godaddy account
2. choose transfer domain to godaddy
3. input the domain name and go to checkout directly
4. paid for the renewal fee by paypal

Now the name shows in the Pending Transfer panel.

It ask me to authorize a transfer, begin by entering the "Transaction ID" and "Security Code", my questions are:

1. What's the transaction ID and Security Code? will they be sent to my godaddy email address or be sent to the seller's whois email address?

2. Is there any difference between Security Code and Auth Code? If they are different, when and at where should I submit the Auth Code?

3. The seller uses whois privacy service at 1and1, will that block the emails that Godaddy sent to him?

Thank you for the helps in advance

Transaction ID and Security Code will be sent to the seller's whois email address.

Yes, GoDaddy will ask you about the "Auth Code" in the next step after you submit "transaction ID and Security Code"

I'm having the same problem but I can't get this far. Where do you see the Pending Transfer Panel inside GoDaddy? I have these codes but do not see where to enter them.

This info may not be 100% correct.
I am not a godaddy employee. but I often have to remove privacy, just to transfer. Often the email will not be sent. or even "blocked" by the current registrar.

Okay....

Login to Godaddy

Click on 'My Account'

Then, on the left hand side of the page is a list in blue font....At the bottom is 'Pending Domain Transfers'....Click that.

It'll show you any domains Pending Transfer'...

Check the box next to the name - and then - Click 'Authorization' in the top right hand side...

Enter your Transaction Code & Security Code (from the email you will have received)...then enter the 'Auth' code you will have received from the seller.

Hit Okay....and wait.....it can take 5 days, or so, for the domain to appear in your account....You'll get an email from GoDaddy to confirm.

Still confused, need help again...

I have received the email from seller, got the "Transaction ID" and "Security Code" then:

1. Clicked Authoriaztion - Begin Transfer Authorization
2. Submitted the "Transaction ID" and "Security Code"
3. Submitted the Transfer Auth Code

Now the transfer status changed to "Pending Current Registrar Approval" and the recommended action shows "Accept transfer at current registrar", so does this mean Godaddy has sent another email to ask the seller approve the transfer??? should I do anything as a buyer?

I am asking because the seller doesn't check his email often, so if there is another transfer approval email, he may miss it.

Why Godaddy made the transfer process so complex....

Thanks

Yes, transfer in process. Your part is done now.

If you purchased the domain thru Sedo, contact your rep and let him know that you requested the transfer already. If you you bought it directly from the seller, ask him to confirm the transfer.

BTW, Some registrars don't ask for transfer approval. They just send email to the seller notifying him about the transfer and they add a deadline (usually 5-7 days) If they didn't receive any cancellation from the seller, Transfer will be processed.
