![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | whois privacy protection Are there any rules to running whois privacy services? Rather than paying per domain for private registration, is there any reason I can't set up a P.O. box, a voicemail box, and a contact form on one of my own domains to use as my own personal anonymous whois service? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If somebody writes snail mail to you and it bounces or if some tries to call you and it's a wrong number, they can complain to your registrar about false whois info. Depending on your registra.r would depend on how they treated the complaint. |

![]() | many registrars delete domains for providing false whois info if they cannot contact the domain owner to get the information corrected. Keep in mind when you register a domain you agree to both the registrar terms of service as well as the registries and both of those terms state you have to maintain an accurate and correct whois record at all times. |
