web.com

I use to do all my registering with Web.com, as the charge was only $6.95. One of the reasons I liked that site was that you could type in a domain name, and it would not only show you the availability, but would also give you about 12 additional suggestions related to the domain you were checking on. BUT now Web.com has or is going through an overhaul and all of a sudden my $6.95 domain about 70 of them, will be costing me $9.95 to renew...AND they have taken the suggestion portion away!
Any suggestions for a cheaper registry that has the suggestion attribute?

Thanks in advance...

Dotster.com has an excellent suggestion system. They have half-decent pricing, so I reg with them once in a while. But if you can get it cheaper somewhere else, then nothing stops you from using dotster's suggestion system, then regging someplace else.

thats exactly what I do Armstrong. Only when I need to reg something that I can't find a safe register for do I use dotster for more than the search.

it also shows you virtually all TLD's as well. (well, a lot of them anyways.)

web.com is a mess. I ordered a name from them a couple months ago and the password for it wouldn't work. Going through a couple rounds of tech support got me nowhere so I gave up on it. Stay away.

I agree, buyer be ware! Just because they give you additional suggestions does not mean you have to register with them! Many other great services offer this also, perhaps you havent been shopping around? If you like their suggestion tool, use it to find available names but I sure hope you choose a better choice as a registrar. GL in your decision.

web.com is TERRIBLE. Their interface is bad and support is MIA. I transferred to RegisterFly as fast as I could.
