Dot Org Domains

Ok this might be a very noobie question but i notice that very little people seem to be buying and selling .org domains. I appreciate the value of a .com super-seeding everything else but surely a .net is very close in value to a .org? I've been looking at brandable domains but don't know whether its worthwhile investing in a good .org.

Is a .org a worthwhile investment?

Cheers

IMO yes it is worth investing in .com, .net, .ORG, and popular cctld's such as .co.uk if you are developing websites.

In my experience my .org domains rank just as well in search engines as my .com domains.

However if you buying domains to quickly flip or sell to an end-user it is best to stick to .com, unless the domain name, suits the .org extension. For example a 'global warming' domain could sell for just as much with a .org compared to a .com, as the topic suites the .org extension.
