DomainFest Sells Over $2.3 million In Auction Finale!
My blog crashed several of times due to the large surge of visitors! Sorry guys! Working on getting it fixed so it never happens again.
DomainFest has just concluded the finale auction of the conference. They sold over $2,329,000 in domain sales on auction today. A grand total of over $3,148,000 for both days of the auction. (Final auction results will be released by DomainFest, this is a rough estimate, but fairly accurate )
The top names sold were; porn.net $400,000, bookmarks.com $300,000 photograph.com $195,000, females.com $90,000, intimate.com $80,000
IMO, the auction is not that successful, but as the 1st live auction by snapnames deserves the respect! congrats to all buyers and sellers.
I sold tube.mobi (though don't know if the online bidder would pay) but the price is very near the 2 highest offers I have received so far. But anyway, I can invest on other decent names.
Awesome, Steve ... some of these sales figures todayin general and at first blush seem a bit lower than they should be, IMHO.
I think Politics.net at $35,000 is juicy! Some folks that I know here in NH - fresh off the Primary - would eat that up for much more than that, I'd be willing to bet.
Thanks much.

It was fun, but very frustrating when my blog crashed 3 times.
The auction was a success if you think about the recession currently going on.
Just because tube.mobi did not do better that you expected, does not mean it was not a healthy auction. There were alot of great .com names that did not sell because of the credit crunch going on right now in the economy.
No, no, no, mate, you misunderstood my words It has nothing relates to tube.mobi sold price. It is a bit lower than I thought, but that's the reflection of existing .mobi market.
It is a healthy auction, I mean it should be more successful because many decent .com domains didn't sell. I believe there were many other high quality names with good reserve price but snapnames let them go. In auction, the reserves are too high, and the increasement is too high to bidders.
Anyway, I am glad to be part of the auction.
Thanks, Jeff, that depends on how bidder does and how snapnames handle the payment from online bidders
Looks like someon deliberately crashed my site using the following domain puzzlespot.com as search term to crash my site and keep it from working properly.
I am going to see if I can't discover the ip address.
Doing further research. This is crazy, why would someone be a jerk and crash my site?
