![]() ![]() ![]() | Alternate Domain Extensions For example you have a domain name in mind, however when you check the avaibility it is still registered, however it is in the process of expiring. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/41369-alternate-domain-extensions.html I'm thinking about registering this domain name, however it only recently expired and hasn't dropped yet to public. Would it be worth to get the .net domain extension of the domain, the domain does not infringe any trademark/copyright laws. However would it be wise to register the domain registration and start the project which is what I want to do, or wait till the domain drops which will be in a couple of months I believe? Domain: (unknown) Domain Expires: 2004-08-26 04:20:55 Please post any suggestions you might have, thanks guys. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, it wouldn't hurt to get the .net version of the name and start publicizing your project now. Plus, it's not guaranteed that you'll catch the .com version anyway. Hopefully you will. Also, the registrant may still renew. So, as long as competition with the .com version is not a problem in the future, as it may happen, then get the .net, try for the .com and get started! |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah but then that would mean I have to start the project for yet another couple of months. I get what your trying to say though, do you think it would be wise however to reg the .net then later on register the .com if I am able to get a hold of it? |
