![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Amongst many others , I was trying to get Pool to go this direction , especially in the face of possible WLS change. I suggested going a domain selling route akin to GreatDomains NOT Afternic/Sedo. i.e. I thought they were better placed to sell 'perceived' quality domains rather than letting every Tom, Dick and Harry sell their crap there. Was thinking they wouild only sell domains that, at least, came through their own drop service which meant they were basically $60 plus value domains. This is, of course, flawed, and I was a bit naive to think this would happen, In reality, they did as I expected and go for as much money as possible in the short term by listing everything. It saves them on having to appraise worthy domains and generates excellent income and cash flow from the off. My thoughts on the result: The marketplace, now over 5000 domains, is already diluted by crap domains and I find it less easy to search for a domain than say on Afternic or SEDO. Their listing process is a friggin nightmare. The transfer process in the real world is fraught with problems and it can take a couple of weeks to get the name listed in the end. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/33389-pools-market-place.html As they are currently unindated and relatively short staffed, any problems can take a while to resolve. All domains have to be transfered into namescout. This means any domains you have just bought on spec will have to wait 60 days before you can list them. They dont mention this on the sales page and this will cause a big delay if youre caught by the 60-day rule. It costs to list names, and if you have a decent domain you HAVE to use the top listing service (over $2500 start price). AFAIK once a listing is paid for, the money is gone, sold or not. Good points. Sold 2 domains there for GOOD prices Summary: If you can put up with the flaws its a good place to get relatively better prices than anywhere else in the market. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Spookily enough... Amazing coincidence. I have recently brokered two domain names for a client. Both names are at Bulkregister. I am trying to transfer both names into my eNom account before I pass them on to the buyer as if the payment ends up awry (I am doing the Escrow) I know enom will get the names back for me. They have done it twice before and I know they will do it again. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=33389 I am having a problem though, a problem I have come accross once before. They have refused to transfer the names into enom because- 'a person or persons at enom have been sending emails of a dubious nature to our Bulkregister clients' What coswallop. They tried this on me about 18 months ago... A quick call (well, slow call) to their cuistomer service and it was sorted but it has cost me 2 days delay, I will have to reinnitiate the transfer process and the client is getting nervous.. Great. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Youre not wrong there Anthony..... I have mentioned this to Pool and I imagine others have too. There are quite a few flaws in their system . They have said they will look into it and they are usually very quick at sorting these problems out. They usually take comments from customers very seriously and act accordingly. Lets see what happens...... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just one observation about the auction on Pool. I , along with a lot of people, had noticed that the prices for domains that dropped were somewhat out of what you would expect on the open market. So when Pool opened up it's market place it seemed like a good place to advertise. When I applied for my first domain to be listed there were only 17 domains in the market place, in otherwords it was a good deal ( especially as I paid for all the extras ). I am still waiting for that one to be listed !!! I have had another domain listed in the mean time. I have still to see any of the domains listed in the auction section that come even close to the auctions for the dropped domains ... is it just me or does that not quite sit right in the mind ? All the best ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=33389 Richard PS Not against pool, I have stories that cover most popular drop services / auctions

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I put 8 names up for listing hoping to attract their relatively better prices. Six still havent been listed. Admittedly, 2 of them failed because I failed to notice they had only been at the current registrar for less than 60 days. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=33389 Good news is that the two named I did list SOLD ! The bad points are: - That it includes mostly 'bad' domains and they are clogging up the whole system al la SEDO or Afternic. - The long winded transfer system - It has up-front costs All in all, when they iron out a few things it will be a reasonably good place to sell 'good' domains due to the motivated traffic it receives. The more exposure a domain you are wanting to sell gets the better. Thats the bottom line and why I am overall happy to use it and recommend it. |
