Googles Page Rank

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but...

I noticed something about Google and its Page Rank, I had a few domains that had no links to them or a PR rank. I was just running a search portal on the domains then decided it would be easier and take up less space if I added them as addon domains on top of my PPC search site. I did this and now all the domains have a PR rank of 4 which is what the PPC Search site has.

Should it work this way? Whats to stop someone doing this with say a PR 7 and then before the next Google dance they switch it back to a real account and add a simple site and then sell it as a PR 7 then the next dance it goes down?

One thing you have to notice about PR is that .....

lets say you check at 9am and its PR2 and then you check again at 9pm and it may be PR6. There is also a PR difference between domainname.com and www.domainname.com

I do agree on what you are saying though that it does seem like it could be screwy.

from what I have learned about Google PR --
stable PR is approximately equal to mature domain with much content and many backlinks to sights that have high PR themselves. When you have this you are pretty safe that your PR won't fluctuate very much.

You might not belive me but I've had the PR change due to changing Host ! - Should it matter ???? - It did for a few months to me !

As soon as google reindexes the domain and it is no longer pointing to the original site, the pagerank will be gone. So you can't really gain any advantage from it.

I have a tool online for checking the pagerank also, you can see it at http://onlinesearch.ws/pr/

one advantage of this one is if you pm me suggestions that I like they will get added.

How long does it take for Google to find you in the Yahoo Directory. I've been in it for a little under 2 weeks now and I'm still not showing up as having them as a backward link yet...

sometimes it can take weeks or months.

I'm pretty sure it depends on how often they happen to spider that particular yahoo category.
