Namecheap Transfer Issue - Anyone Else Had This Problem?

I transferred two .cc domains out of Godaddy to NC (my preferred registration company) and went through the whole process. The transfer at first appeared successful, domains showed in my account and I got the successful transfer email.

Then it all went south. 10 days later I get a notice that both transfers were unsuccessful because the "uwhois" server did not respond. I sent an email their way since one of the names was now about to expire the next day and I didn't have the money in my checking account to pay for it. I go through support and no real reason can be given for what went wrong. What got me was that names were listed in my account and everything.

Well it took a bit as usual and it was further complicated by me being on vacation. They put the funds back in my account but they don't do me any good so I requested a refund to Paypal. This was escalated to the proper department on March 13th. I haven't heard a word since, so Friday I sent a reply. Still nothing.

Kinda makes me reconsider. I was curious if anyone else had the "uWhois" thing happen to them? What do you have to do to get NC to move on the refund?

Why not just start the transfer again with funds from your account?

No offense, but did you read my whole thread?

The ticket was escalated on March 13th. I didn't have the time to try to move it anywhere else. It literally sent me the notice the day before the domain expired, 10 days after it appeared the domains had transferred. That one domain was the reason I transferred.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/309322-namecheap-transfer-issue-anyone-else-had.html

If this were a transfer where $15 was sitting in my account I'd just wait. However, when they fail to deliver a product, let me know in such bad terms, me almost lose a domain out of it (luckily I had just enough to put in checking from Paypal and renew), and keep $57 of my money all in one fell swoop I have an issue with that.

Still nothing.

can't comment on some of the detail but I think that there is an added risk if you try to transfer a name close to renewal date.

Well I won't be trying it again, I assumed 11-12 days before it expired would be okay but I guess not for whatever reason. Lesson learned.

NC got to me today - the issue was that when my email was redirected it got caught in a SPAM filter. That happens and I appreciate NC being honest about it.
