Buyer must be an end user IMO, in which case they got a bargain. Or possibly a reseller who can afford to sit on it for a year or so without needing a quicker return ?

even i think it was a bargain.... Recently i'm seeing 2-words names are selling like hot pancakes... ie. CommercialProperty.com

I think investors are going for strong keywords now since most of the one word names are long gone into "non-return" domain portfolio(likes of iREIT etc)

There is no question this was a bargain, and as more and more people find themselves more comfortable shopping for higher end goods online, that particular domain name will find itself a site sooner or later.

It was very cheap , I am a little concerned having put two good multi keyword domains on Sedo auction and the market seems to be somewhat in the doldrums, see this weeks DNJournal.

I would have expected this name to have gone to mid $xx,xxx. JMO

Should have been higher. Hugely popular search term and there are big bucks to be made in designer clothes.

I think good keyword ones always will, sometimes it is only possible to accurately describe a certain product/market with a two or even three word domain.

I just found this thread via Google.

I was the buyer of this superb domain. I had been tracking it for a while and I think the final auction price was pretty damn good.

I am a domainer and have been for over 7 years now, but mainly in the .uk market. However, designerclothes.com was purchased as part of a new business venture so I guess I was an end-user in this case.

I would be interested to know what you guys would value the domain at?

edited - Forget that question, I just noticed it was at sedo >> Did you buy it at sedo or in a drop auction ? At drop auction I would of expected it to sell for alot more than that from what I've seen but of course it also depends who's in the auction.

necktie.com just sold for $70,250.00 recently in the drops

this one was bought by an enduser and now points to neckties.com
