I had the same thing happen to me on afternic a few weeks ago

I had the same thing happen to me on Afternic a few weeks ago.

The seller had a few names for sale with bin prices so i bought one, paid with paypal. Waited and waited and waited for afternic & the seller to transfer the name.

I received a message from the seller that the sale was null and void because he had forgot and as the name was no longer in his account it must have been already sold.

I checked the whois on his other names listed at Afternic and they all seemed to be registered in 2 or 3 names, not just one name.

Rather peeved about the whole affair.

Afternic refunded my paypal funds but was not good enough to even acknowledge that this had happened, I have heard nothing from them.
Just checked into my account and the transaction had vanished into thin air.

Very unprofessional way to do business.

At least Sedo check ownership before you can list a name.

I was not sure whether to renew my Afternic membership.

When I received an email about some of my names- berrybush.com , studpony.com being removed from Afternic.com because they where adult names, I had my doubts.

Well now I know th answer for sure.

I know that TDNAM will fine the person who lists a domain name they do not own or do not complete the sale for. I think that a fine is reasonable for something like this, and i believe the fine should be split between the Auction house and the person who made the winning bid. Its only fair that they recieve compensation for wasted time and loss of interest on monies!

Just my 2 Cents

Justin
