![]() ![]() | .PRO developers thread Announcing Sushi.Pro - finally developed and just launched today I wonder if any of you other NP'ers are still developing .pros?? Sorry if I'm starting a dupe thread - I thought there was an old thread about this but I couldn't find it. |

![]() ![]() | Thanks! The aftermarket for .PRO may remain in a coma until the ICANN contract is renewed next year, so with kickass names like studentloan.pro it only makes sense to develop. If you're creating a service for finding student loans, and you can get a commission on each I think you could do very well. Student saves money by finding best program, loan originator gets a customer, you get a commission. Win, win, win! |

![]() ![]() | OK guess it's just me and you E-Thunder, two lone .pro developers amongst the crowds of non-believers. Certainly not up to the level of Sushi.Pro, but my latest offering is: http://language.pro |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | By the end of this month I should have something put together for studentloan.pro (and will direct studentloans.pro to same site also). The other 2 domains I have don't get much traffic so will just hold them for now. Nice site for Language.pro. I know there's someone else on this forum with a developed .pro domain...not sure who though. |

![]() ![]() | I think there's some nice affiliate programs you can use for student loans - commission junction or darkblue or somewhere... And yes I remember spyware.pro, wedding.pro and the awesome unitedstates.pro - all very nice. But I saw these for sale over the past few months tho, so I'm not sure they're still interested in .pro I will keep going. Might take me a while for the next one... I'll race you! |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/263975-pro-developers-thread.html Thanks for reminding me that I should really try to focus more on quality instead of getting in a hurry to put something out there...

![]() ![]() | seeker, e-thunder are you guys close to launching some .pro sites? Maybe this will encourage you: ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=263975 http://sushi.pro launched in December has already passed the break-even point! I'll never get rich from this site, but I think it proves the viability of this extension. Yes, most people I talk to have never heard of .pro, but in one month I've sold $500 of fish through our partnership with Catalina, one rice-cooker and several books from Amazon, and collected a fair number of Google adsense clicks. This with no real marketing and not a heck of a lot of traffic. I am seeing some repeat visitors (I love Google analytics) and I believe that it's because people can remember the URL so easily! My conclusion: I've got a big advantage in the short term over YourOneStopSushiPlace.com, and I've got a big advantage in the long term over sushi.ag or any other extension that doesn't make sense with the keyword. |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=263975 Nonprofit .pro has been up and running since March of 2005. Since that time it has helped secure almost $200k of business for my firm. Matched with the right keywords, dot pro conveys a higher sense of confidence and trust whether for information, products or services. I think that the registration restrictions continue to negatively influence the development of dot pro domains by businesses because of the way most would have to lease them from Encirca. I actually like that there is a higher cost of registration because that keeps much of the spam and phishing crowd away. Who knows what the future holds for dot pro at the registry level. All I know is that it has worked for my needs and I like the way the extension looks and sounds. | ||||

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=263975 the site itself turned over $200K (or through business dealings done by people that found you through the site)? I am just wondering as it sounds like a great success story.

![]() | Well, I don't think betting would be a big problem, it's a global sports. Fan site is a possibility, but I some ideas I am currently exploring right now. I checked the extensions for my name and I think I can do better. I will probably look for a partner, maybe one of the sports federations or pro leagues..I am also researching video content options. I have a "video" background... so maybe I utilize some of those skills. Sports related dot pro domains have some of the greatest potentials for this extension. You have team sports pro names as well? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just a little update... recently two organizations asked for reprint permission for an article from the nonprofit dot pro site I mentioned above. One of those organizations is Stanford University which will be publishing a career guide for the nonprofit sector and will include an article from the site along with attribution. That should provide a little exposure and credibility for the dot pro extension. Every bit helps. |
