How many (domain) dogs do you have in your portfolio?

No, not the pets, but, how many domain names in your collection/portfolio would you consider dogs, or those that after months of ownership, you view as a bad investment or one you'd like to get rid of if only you can pay someone to get it off your hands?

I've about 20/30 that really I don't know why I've registered...

Probably is not a good idea to stay at the computer after a few
double Jack Daniel's! Every name looks nice at the moment,
but the day after.....

Same here, I've got one of them dogs.. we seem to be settling with one of them, lol, maybe we've learned our lesson with one or two of those, and get a lot more picky the next time... *but* the downside to this of course is to over-consider getting an available domain, and finding in dismay a bit later on when you do decide to get it that someone beat you to the punch by a day or two. (Which happened to me twice already; and now those domains were developed and appear to be thriving. Agh)

Just one dog? How many names do you have? I have a few more then that (a few more then i'd like) with around 75 names. I go after traffic names so these are name that probably won't pay reg fee by the time they expire. The good news is the names that do produce more the make up for the bad ones. If anyone would like to add a few more dog names to add to their portfolio PM me, i'll deal cheaply .

Just one dog?
LOL yea but well we're talking about one nasty, flea-ridden, mite-infested, accident-prone, disease-filled excuse of a mongrel of a domain.

I have four others that are only "flea-ridden" ones, and another couple that are so-so (they just smell bad). So they didn't count.

Actually there are those few I have where the jury is still out and I'm unable to determine their value just yet. But the one mentioned above is the one I'm just absolutely sure of ...

To help you calculate them, just add up the number of three worders and hyphened domains you own.

Of the 80 names I have, I only consider about 10 of the "Good" names. The rest were bought in the heat of passion, the bliss of ignorance, and as a result of "brilliant" website ideas that were mostly dumb to start with.

And of course there is BigDog2.....Now that's a DOG!

I now own about 500 domains so 20 dogs i don't think is too bad... The problem is the TV! I live alone so if nothing interesting on TV I start to search (and register) new names... As we say here in Italy not everyday is sunday...

heh, no matter what they say about them, like those recent articles about hyphenated domains being big in Europe, they still are hard for many people to find in the keyboard, and are thus more tedious to type, and so too would their value.

On another note, I do have a net acquaintance who, being new and overly zealous of domains (and had lots of spare cash from rich parents; always a dangerous combination) registered more than 800 domains, and said that only less than fifty were of any real value to him (more than 50... so it's really a matter of taste. (In case anyone is wondering, yes I was itching to sell him the Brooklyn Bridge too, but of course my conscience got the better of me).
