![]() | What is domain name CustomerService.com worth? Now that domain name sales have been moving up radically, what do you think a generic domain name like CustomerService.com worth...not so much as a PPC site but as an internet portal or as a brand? Thanks. White Fang |

![]() ![]() | I'd peg it in the $xxx, xxx range--higher depending on that perfect buyer--for an enduser (broad because there is a wide array of options available to entities that could afford this name and it would depend on how much they'd want to offer and at which point you'd sell). It's a great name, obviously. For a domainer: high $xx,xxx - low $xxx, xxx. |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/193943-what-domain-name-customerservice-com-worth.html It's a strong name, with strong market potential. I would say it's best used by a company, but could be turned into a product help portal. Low/mid xx,xxx - nice! | ||||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Do you own this domain name? Notice it's parked at sedo, but without the usual for sale tagged to it, are you selling? Nice value to that one. Of course the use is so obvious, and the versatility extends to any business whatsoever, online or off, and the value of a portal or other site with this name is stellar, so you have a very highly-rated name there. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=193943 Low would be med xx,xxx to a domainer (you'd better not even consider a lower offer than that!), but there'd be a huge price spread of estimates for what end users might pay. If you get some of the prime corps - large chains especially - bidding here, no telling how much they'd want an ideal dn like this; easily somewhere xxx,xxx at least. PS if you own the name, add yourself to the enviable ranks of the very few first-posters at namepros with a killer name. Welcome

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There was talk of a Fake bid on Ebay for $500,000 . No way is this name worth that much. I'd say Mid $ XX,XXX. Not more not less. http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...merservice.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-appra...merservice.com

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just as a guess, I'd say high xx,xxx on this one. A Google search for "customer service" yielded 1.32 billion returns (that's a lot) By comparison, "happy birthday" only yielded 60 million... |

The reason I ask, is that a lot of domainers think that either one of those makes or breaks a domain. I, too , think the domain is valuable, but I'm willing to bet it doesn't do tons of PPC, or get an extraordinary amount of traffic either. By extraordinary, I means thousands of visits per month. I'd say it only gets several hundred visits. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=193943 I could be wrong on that, but my point is, even if a domain is generic, it doesn't have to be a top performer to be valuable. Even if I am wrong on the stats, I guarantee you if the exact same domain was showing only about 300 visits per month on SEDO, that most appraisals would decrease by more than half.

Did you not get the "appraisals" you were looking for on the other forums...? As for asking "how much is CustomerService.com worth...not so much as a PPC site but as an internet portal or as a brand?" is like asking what google, com or myspace, com is worth as a portal (developed). Between Zero to $400 BN is your answer. And the point many people miss is that their domains cost $10 reg fee. The idea that you somehow have to have *the* generic category-defining name (to "corner" or "monopolize" the market", LOL) in order to succeed is a common myth usually perpetuated by hermit domainers, many of whom have zero knowledge of branding, marketing, development or...hard work. This domain ONLY has appeal to a (doh) business whose main business is "customer service" - prob. some offshoring company in India. Fortune 500 companies would not be interested in it (as important as C/Service is) if their main biz is not that. Obviously no company has yet made you an offer you couldn't refuse. As for "development"...I am sure it will be like 99% of "development" seen from domainers. Tender on domain boards/elance etc. And some half-assed website attempt with the resulting cheap and nasty mess eventually abandoned and left to rot while waiting for the big offer. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=193943 Unfortunately, "customerservice, com" is not a B2C biz-in-a-box moneymaker like mortgage, com or loan, com. Nor is it easy for a layperson to develop. We'll check back in 6 mths time to see what has been mustered up...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm somewhat surprised none of the TM holders for the words have sent you a C&D. ![]() (Just kidding on the C&D thing, of course. It's a good name for me also, more so for a company who's heavily investing in their customer support.) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm guessing low $xx,xxx It's a HOT name that's for sure. But what company wants to pay big bucks for a customer service DN when they can just have a subdomain on there own website for there customers. Maybe it could be a Customer Service information site or Forum...For now at least. Allowing users to log on and Rant and Rave about there customer service experiences and which companies have great service and whick one's suck. |
