Namecheap and whoisguard problem

Its been almost 2 years now. Still no abuse@ or postmaster@ email address for whoisguard.com

http://www.rfc-ignorant.org/tools/lo...whoisguard.com

Over 2 years for no abuse@ for namecheap.com

This is why I am moving my domains away from namecheap. I cant support a company that cant follow the RFC/standards of the internet.

Nerd talk

As far as I can tell, it has something to do with domains ideally having the same default email addresses set up, for something to do with (guesses here only) abuses & email sorting.

Checked out wikipedia, nothin, then I googled it and looked at the first page of results, nothin, thats as far as my interest went /goes Zzzz

I've been working online for about 5 years now, I'm still amazed by how little I care about the stuff like this lol

Sorry but thats hoop jumping which many will not do.

Quote:
Some times spammers use WhoisGuard to protect their true identity. We have zero tolerance policy to such behavior. We will try to take the immediate action which may even include teriminating the offending domain name if it is under our control.
This above is a GOOD thing. But still we come down to making people visit a web page to report the spam. If you took reports via abuse@ and had a working postmaster@ address I know I would move all my domains to NameCheap and I know a few other anti-spammers who would use NC and reccomend NC to their customers and friends.

Request for Comments (RFC)
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=174569

Global Internet Standards

The Requests for Comments (RFC) document series is a set of technical and organizational notes about the Internet (originally the ARPANET), beginning in 1969.

Memos in the RFC series discuss many aspects of computer networking, including protocols, procedures, programs, and concepts, as well as meeting notes, opinions, and sometimes humor.

See
ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc822.txt
and
http://www.rfc-ignorant.org/rfcs/rfc2142.php

Basicly if you can recieve emails at @domain.com you need to have abuse@domain.com and postmaster@domain.com working. Which Name Cheap doesnt have on namecheap.com or whoisguard.com.

I use rfc-ignorant.org to score emails in spamassassin, so if I used one of the domains I hosted in my whois or used whoisguard I wouldnt get the emails from namecheap or if someone sent an email to my whoisguard email address.

*whistles*

Can't say I blame you for moving out, zurax. Good luck!

Oh smub, in layperson's speak, the Request For Comments (RFC) zurax posted
are kinda like the techincal "rules" of the 'net. They decide how users should
do things considered "acceptable behavior" by the 'net itself.
