![]() | Whats the deal with .it domains? Hi all... Is there any reason why .it domains require tax related details when registering them? and how does this affect their value etc. Many thanks -fraser |

![]() ![]() | .IT is for Italy and is probably governed by some rules there which need you to give the tax details. For example in India the tax payers base was less than 5% of the population. So the govt made a new rule saying anyone with a bank account, a phone, a car or a club membership or has travelled abroad has to mandatorily file income tax returns even if there was no tax to be paid. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/1398-whats-the-deal-with-it-domains.html Another policy for Indian domain names .CO.IN is unless you are a registered business, organisation or a professional you cannot register a .CO.IN domain name. Otherwise one has to register a subdomain as YOURNAME.IND.IN / GEN.IN. India was the first to set these rules for registration and it has worked pretty well for Indians with not even one domain squatting dispute for a .CO.IN name. So far there are only a few thousand registrants but then the internet user population is very less compared to US, Canada, Europe etc. http://www.indianregistry.net/coin/cat.htm |
