To WS or not to WS.

I have located several short 1 & a couple 2 word .ws names with OVT from around 700K up to 2M+. At 9 bucks a pop I am debating reg'ing a few, building mini-sites with nice SE food, affiliate links, Google etc. etc.

Anyone with experience or thoughts? I am having some luck with a couple .cc but .ws seems to be getting such a bad reputation here.

BTW most of them are entertainment related.

<edit>Would not be buying to sell but add a bit of income stream.</edit>

Get them, .ws is just as good as any extension esp if the keyword domain isn't available in .com/.net etc...

Richard, a Veteran should never ask such questions.

If you plan to develop them and get hits from search engines then the extension doesn't really matter. What does matter is the content and the seo.

I've recently picked up a couple, with decent single keyword. It just takes one good sale sometime down the road to make it all worth while (if not, it was worth it for the fun of guessing).

I personally sold 35 .ws about 20 months ago , highest single price was $900! I only have one now - Outlook.ws

If you are confident go for it.

register to sell... probalby not, unless you develop first. I have a couple, but I know that to make anything with them, I'll probably have to develop them first.

Unfortunately, I'm about a thousand domains behind on my development plans. Too many ideas, too little time.

Good one. Especially since I continually shout content, content and more content but even at my age I still suffer from bouts of insecurity.

Just sold a .ws for $650, another one will probably go for a bit more this week, and I've got a few low $xxx offers of Afternic and SEDO the last weeks.
I've also developed a few .ws sites that have 100-200 daily visitors (and rising).

Searchengines doesn't care about the extension, and .ws seems to be a bit more popular and known to the "average surfing Joe" now, so I would say "Go for it"...

Yes , A developed .ws (or anything else ) will be better than a Parked undeveloped .com for search engines . Plus .ws is getting some recogintion at last.
I actually like it when people say "I only buy .com's" ,just means more good .ws, .net's .info's (etc) for the rest of us.

I actually like .ws domains but stay away from .name, I have one (.name) that is PR3 but MSN and Yahoo will never index it no matter how many times I submit.

In that case I would register them but only if you see a good chance to get a good position in the search engines.

I think that good name of .ws worth to register.
Reg Price is dorp to $10 and meaning of website is not bad too.
I registered and bought some .ws domain names.
Tomorrow.ws
Teenager.ws
Autograph.ws

some china play:
GreatChina.ws
ChinaNet.ws
Hybridcar.ws

.WS value also depends on promotion. You may have good profit return.
